Bryant's court date changed

Kobe Bryant's next court appearance in Colorado will be Nov. 13.

District Court Judge Terry Ruckriegle postponed the original Nov. 10 date on Tuesday at the request of prosecutors, who had a scheduling conflict.

Bryant will be advised of his rights and the sexual assault charge he faces. If convicted, he would face four years to life in prison or 20 years to life on probation.

Bryant, 25, has made three trips to Eagle for county court appearances. This will be his first appearance in the higher district court, and he also may enter a plea at that time.

The Los Angeles Lakers star is charged with raping a 19-year-old Eagle woman at a resort in Edwards on June 30. Bryant denies the claim, saying the sex was consensual.

In a five-line ruling, Ruckriegle said Bryant's lawyers and the Eagle County district attorney's office agreed to the new date in a conference call.

The Nov. 13 date is also a free day for Bryant because the Lakers don't have a game that night.

Also Tuesday, the district attorney's office said that it won't object to cameras in the courtroom for the next appearance. Court TV and The Associated Press have asked Ruckriegle to allow video and still cameras in the courtroom.
